A friend dreamt he was on a Russian plane, flying over Iowa at 200 feet. He said the flight was terrifying but the plane was gorgeous, all tricked out in wood like an Edwardian ocean liner. And the wings brushed against obstacles but the plane kept going. There’s no shilly-shallying in dream life–you gotta keep going.
So while my country’s government shuts down in a schoolyard gambit– “a do-over” (“I don’t like the way the game is going so I’m going to hold the ball and stamp my feet.”) I think its useful to remember the imperative of dreams–you gotta keep going.
I’m going to walk my dogs and teach a course on writing in the digital age to a room filled with wonderful students and in the company of the incomparable blogger Lance Mannion. My wings will brush the branches of strange trees but I will keep on going.
How will you keep going today?
