Ross stopped by this evening. He doesn’t yet have internet connection in his apartment so he’s left his laptop here. It’s as good an excuse as any don’t you think?
On his way out the door for the night we had this exchange:
"Mom, are you crying again?"
"No Ross, actually I’m not. I’m smiling. Are you?"
"No. When are you planning on moving?"
"Don’t know yet. That has yet to be determined. But I can say you’re stuck with me for at least a couple of months."
"Oh good. I can mooch some more money off you then."
"Don’t count on it."
"I’m afraid of those big tears…"
"What, you mean the BIG CRY?"
"Yeah. What the hell is that? Love ya. Bye."
Tomorrow I have to pick him up at 7:30 a.m. He’s having surgery to have all four wisdom teeth removed.
It’s good to feel needed, for now anyway.

Thanks for your comment Jennifer. Stay tuned! In fact, you’ve just given me an idea for a post…

I think you need to blog the Big Cry just so everyone can join in. I think we all have the Big Cry in us whether we’ve left, have those who will leave… or just live on planet Earth.

I just had to pick up blue kid from his friend’s house. He went into this long lecture about how The Skimmer and I better end up like “Cheech and Chong” old people, and not “Regular Old People” who wear their pants too high. He said he hopes that I’ll still blast my Elton John and live in a “modern” house.
LOL.
I just told him that we’ll try out best. And as far as I can see now, the “wearing my pants too high” thing won’t happen.
Hee-hee….
Kids.

Blue Girl,
Yeah, Ross earned a “time out” for his use of profanity.
He’s a little slow in coming to the realization that his mom is a reasonably good mom, but I think he’s finally figuring it out. My daughter finally did.

Did you yell at him for saying hell?
🙂
Hope he recovers quickly from his surgery. I remember how much my mom babied me when I had that done. And I was 23!
It’s so great to have a good mom. And I think Ross knows that.
