WHEELCHAIR ATHLETES AT THE OHIO STATE FAIR ROLL FOR THE PRIZE

Sunday, August12 From 1pm to 5pm.
Central-Ohio athletes will demonstrate their abilities at the Ohio
State Fair Showplace Pavilion on Sun., Aug. 12, 1pm-5pm. You may hear
an occasional “back away from the wheel-chair” as the athletes peel out
and burn rubber. These athletes are equipped with something extra
…uniquely modified wheelchairs … and they will show you a thing or two
about using them!
Fairgoers can watch teams compete for bragging rights in basketball,
soccer and rugby, as the local teams battle to win the official Ohio
State Fair 1st Place Trophy. Bleachers will provide spectators a shaded
convenient rest. As with all sports, these games showcase the
discipline, training, teamwork and determination of these competitors
who use their WHEELS to compensate for their disabilities.

Kidnetic Energy is Ready! You’re Invited to Our OPEN HOUSE!

Please join us at Kidnetic Energy’s Open House on Sunday, August
12th from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Buckeye Gymnastics in Powell. We will have
food and drinks on hand while you browse the facility where our
gymnastics classes will be held, ask any questions you have about
Kidnetic Energy’s classes, and pick up print information including
registration forms.

It has been a hectic summer of planning, but Kidnetic Energy is
ready to start its inaugural program of dance and gymnastics classes!
We can’t wait to meet all of you and hope that our vision of providing
these classes for children with special needs is as fun for your
children as it is rewarding for us.
Kidnetic Energy grew from watching my niece have so much fun in her
classes at Kinetic Kids, a nonprofit organization in San Antonio, Texas
that provides an array of activities for children with special needs. I
wanted to provide a similar program here for dance and gymnastics. We
are fortunate in central Ohio to have several organizations that offer
swimming and outdoor recreation (e.g., Recreation Unlimited), and t-ball (e.g., The Miracle League)
which is why our goal is to develop an ongoing and thriving program of
dance and gymnastics classes. With guidance from Tracey Fontenot at
Kinetic Kids, and enormous help from several people here in central
Ohio, Kidnetic Energy is scheduled to begin its first program of
classes on Sunday, September 9th!
