Your grandfather carried some genius with him. I had a neighbor who revelled in beating his girlfriend every night at 2:30am. She would goad him into doing it. I listened to this vaudeville of violence for 6 months. I had called the landlord & police to no effect. I had to rise at 6:00am for work. One evening I reached breaking point. Mid-show I got out of bed, donned my robe & found myself knocking on my neighbor’s front door. He answered by poking his head out of the door. Having been a peaceful guy for decades I was surprised at the 2 hooks I landed & how well they worked. I then dragged him dowstairs, out the front door & into a grassy bed. I then called the police. When they arrived, I simply stated “this man attacked me” & I walked into my apartment & warm bed.
