Occupying My Life

I am not an old man. Not yet. Do you understand? I am not tired. Understand? As far as I can tell, I’m in my right mind. But even so I’ve decided to “occupy my world” –not Wall Street, (though I’m all for OWS). I’m now occupying my own diurnal occiput. My pinch of reason.

Here’s a quote:

"The moral test of government is how it treats those who are in the dawn of life . . . the children; those who are in the twilight of life . . . the elderly; and those who are in the shadow of life . . . the sick . . . the needy . . . and the disabled." – Hubert H. Humphrey

Under the imprimatur of “Occupy My World” the Paul Ryan budget plan is not moral. And MItt Romney, who has embraced the plan is not moral.

Schopenhauer said: “Compassion is the basis of morality.”

In OMW compassion is also the basis of reality.

  1. This is SO TRUE. I couldn’t be more appalled at the people who profess to be Christians, and then have gutted our fantastic public schools, and want our elderly to have to research options and make decisions they don’t understand, about their health care and finances. Phooey.
