Poem Minus Percy Shelley

Stephen Kuusisto, Letters to Borges

Can I get away with this?
I wrote “Percy Shelley”
Now you must think of him
Flitter moth on fire
Predatory cruel
Great talker though
Alright let’s play this game
“Erasing Shelley”–
“Music, when soft voices die, vibrates in the memory.”
