Twilight
Three men came to my door
Asking “who was Jesus?”
They appeared thirsty
Like drunks in Finland
I didn’t let them in
The little dog wouldn’t have it
(In matters theological
Its good to have a dog)
Anyway one had to laugh
Even Christ couldn’t answer
Poor men
Transactional ghosts
They turned and walked away
Across my darkening lawn
